The battle of Plassey in 1757AD and the battle of Buxar 1764 AD were the main reasons that led to the British to annex and take control over Bengal.

Explanation:

  • The Nawab of Bengal was a puppet in the hands of the British. He had slowly given the rights of governance in the hands of the British.
  • They were given the right of collecting the revenues in Bengal and Bihar.
  • They used their various manipulative ways of dividing the masses on the basis of religion and slowly annexed the state by manipulation.
