Hey Mate
The Battle of Plassey was the decisive battle fought between Nawab of Bengal Siraj ud Daulah and British Colonel Robert Clive. Siraj Ud Daulah had an alliance with the French and the battle is regarded by many as Asian chapter of the seven years war fought between the two countries. Nawab of Bengal had severely superior force but still suffered defeat because many of his generals like Mir Jafar, Yar Lutuf Khan, etc were bribed by Britishers.
In a matter of eleven hours the battle was decided and the Nawab was beaten. Mir Jafar was made the Puppet Nawab of Bengal and control of all of Bengal’s wealth and armies went into the hands of British. Britishers recovered from all their previous deficits and had entire Bengal under their control.
Here are a few clear impacts of the battle in the Indian Political Scenario in the years that follow the battle:
Bengal get into the hands of British, and British become a formidable force in India. This Strengths earned by British by this battle help them drive out their prime European rival in the form of The French East India Company and consolidate further hold over India.Had the result been the reverse, India might well have ended as a French Colony rather than British. And believe me when I say that we were far better under British than we would have been under any other Imperial power of the time.Four years later Marathas were defeated in the Battle of Panipat which created the much necessary power vaccum in India, providing Britishers with a relative ease in taking over the sub-continent.
