British came to India in search of raw materials. they saw that India was full of wealth of raw materials. They thought India ad resource of wealth and drain away all the resources from India to their country to improve their economic industries. They started exploring and extracting India s wealth and the India recognized this in late nineteen century. Till then they explore the country and finally left our country.

The drain of wealth was the portion ofIndia's wealth and economy that wasnot available to Indians. In 1867, Dadabhai Naoroji put forward the 'drain of wealth' theory in which he stated that the Britain was completelydraining India. He mentioned this theory in his book Poverty and Un-British Rule in India
