Trading Mission to India
In 1607, the East India Company established a trading post in Surat on the west coast of India. In 1614, an English ambassador called Sir Thomas Rowe led a successful mission to the Mughal Emperor Jahangir to obtain trade concessions for the Company's factory in Surat.
