After the revolt of 1857

1.India was governed directly by British Queen.

2.British realized the strength of Indian unity then after started the policy of Divide and Rule.

3.Native rulers were given the right of adopting child on condition of loyalty to British.

4.Common people were assured that Indians and Europeans would be treated equally.

5.Queen assured people that Indians would be given service in all fields but the unit of army would be controlled by British
