Indian owned industries like iron, steel, paper, and matches, etc., got no support or protection from the British. British capitalists in India got favourable bank loans and railway freight charges. Indian capitalists, on the other hand, had to take loans at high rate of interest. The Indian industrialists also had to pay higher railway freight charges as compared to the British industrialists.
