How did the British set up a trading factory in Surat?

Explanation:

In 1608 CE, the English East India Company started to dock its ships in surat. Jahangir gave British special concessions through a royal firman to sir Thomas Roe,the ambassador of English East India Company. In 1612 CE, the British established a trading factory there.
