Due to this act, the goods from Britain were allowed in India without any restriction. While British stopped using the goods from India and promoted their own market. As a result, Indian artists faced serious competition with the British machine made items. British items were cheap and duty free. Thus all this contributed in the decline of Indian craftsmen ship
