Ever since Mrs Packletide resolved to hunt a tiger, she offered a thousand rupees for the tiger hunt without much risk or exertion. In a neighbouring village, people came to know about the offer. Fortunately for them, an old tiger had shifted its hunting grounds near the village. Due to old age it could not hunt wild deer or other animals. Now he lived on hunting sheep or goats. These villagers planned to have the same tiger hunted by Mrs Packletide in return for earning a thousand rupees. So the tiger hunt got easily arranged without much botheration for Mrs Packletide.
