The East India company misused their trading powers in the following ways :-
1. They offered monetary gains to kings and in return asked the kings to reduce the rights given to the Indian traders, to maximise their profits.
2. Slowly they started exploiting the disunity among Indian rulers and weak leadership of the greater king's successors.
3. They slowly turned into an internal power. And made its own army to defend itself against other foreign trading companies.
The officials of the East India Company were given trading concessions. For trading purpose the passes were issued to company officials but they misused these passes for private trade and accumulate wealth on the name of company.
