how did the concept of democracy hold significance beyond running the government​

Basically our country need democracy for the proper functioning of the government. Because democracy itself says that it is a system of government in which the citizens power directly or elect representatives from among themselves to form a governing body, such as a parliament.

Democracy is a concept in which there is no inequality between lower caste and upper caste. In democracy all citizens have right to vote, right to go to temples etc. Any higher caste person cannot case on a lower caste person.In the last i want to say that do not see with bad eyes to a low caste person.
