The countries of French Indo-China got independence after World War II.

Laos was seized by Japan in 1945 during the war but France re-colonized her after WWII. Finally, on July 19, 1949, Laos got independence from France.

Cambodia won independence through peaceful manner. In August 1953, King Sihanouk was given control of some sections of government.

On November 9, 1953, Cambodia got complete independence.

Soon after WWII, on September 1945, Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam independent only to face retaliation from France.

But, France did not succeed in war and gave Vietnam independence under Geneva Accord on July 24, 1954.
