Mohammad bin tughlaq's reign is known for many ambitious schemes. These schemes failed because of his poor judgement and impatient nature. This brought ruin to the empire. He tried to provide unique solutions to his problems. But these proceeded his times and failed to win the confidence of the people. As a result all his experiments failed. Some reasons of his failure of experiments were :

These failures caused a heavy toll of life and great loss to the treasury. Moreover, the Mongols had also become bold in their invasions. Instead of facing them, he paid them a huge sum to make them retreat. But this had an adverse effect and their raids became more frequent.
