The First world war helped in creating the national movement in India in the following ways:
1. This war between 1914-18 created an acute shortage of food and deaths in many parts due to starvation.
2. The British Government forcefully recruited the local people and villagers in the war which caused widespread anger between the locals.
3. The peasants demanded low taxation but the British Government declined it.
