how did the forest law affect the hunter in India?

The forest law  was affected the hunters in India in the following manner.Cutting wood for household work, hunting animals for food has become ilegal now.Now people were forced to steal wood from forest,if they were caught by the watchmen of the forest they should give some wood or food to them instead of money.British govt. had told shifting cultivation was banned because they throught that in the mean while time they can grow timber.British govt. told people that  get out from thr forest and they did not gave any place to them and told some people can stay here but you should work for free of cost and at night time they should take care of forest
