The chief Queen of Jahangir ,Noor Jahan loved to be in Kashmir every summer for 2 months.She liked the flora flora of Kashmir and especially the beautiful flowers blooming in the foot hills of Kashmir.One pink and white mixture rose was adored by Noor Jahan very much which used to grow only in summer.
- Miraj Hossain father of Noor Jahan and a special minister of King Jahangir offered an idea of befool the nature.So he arranged all the necessary steps to keep the roses delayed for blooming.The Gardener's raised a delicate but firm shelter of Willow branches above the rose busses and covered it with walnut leaves to shutout the strong raise of sun . Then they dum ditch around the bushes taking care not to damage the roots at the bottom they laid a layer of sand and then another layer of small pebbles for a good drainage. Then they packed the ditch witch snow bought from the hill tops by quick runners.Soon after the snow was melted,it was replaced with fresh snow. In this way the rose bushes were decived in the believe in summer had still not come.
