1857 MUTINY :
A great event had taken place in 1857 in India. Generally two views are given regarding the origin and meaning of the Indian Mutiny : 1. that it was a mere military rising and 2. that it was a widespread conspiracy carefully organized for the overthrow of the British power. Eminent historians differ among themselves regarding the nature of the Mutiny.
ECONOMICAL :
Every annexation of our Indian State not only deposed a reigning sovereign but also rendered large number or families jobless who were depending upon these rules. Therefore the economic distress caused among the multitude of former Indian States also served as contributory causes for the outbreak of the Mutiny..
