during the revolt of 1857 many Indians revolted against the British. The British had to use all its forces to crush the revolt. Thus the British became angry towards the Indians because of the tremendous amount of loss of soldiers as well as Britishers. on the other hand most of the Indians and Indian soldiers were killed brutally. they were tied to cannons, they were shot, they were burnt alive. This frustrated the Indians. this the relationship between the Indian and British was weakened. moreover the British Queen Elizabeth created the new government for India.
