The happy prince had a very big and kind heart. He did many charitable acts. He donated all his wealth to the needy people. He helped the people with his Messenger and his friend - the swallow.
Help to the:-
- Seamstress: The seamstress was very poor and she over worked. Her hands were red and pricked. She had a son who was ill and wanted to eat oranges. She didn't afforded oranges due to her bad condition.
- Looking this condition, the prince gave her the ruby from his sword's hilt to make her and her son happy.
- Playwright: The playwright was vey poor. He was a director. He didn't had much money to protect himself from cold or he had ample amount of food.
- Observing this, the happy prince sent him a sapphire which was brought from India about a thousand years ago.
- Match girl: The match girl was a little girl who was going to sell matched but accidently all the matches fell down into gutter. She wept that her father may scold her.
- Since the prince had a big heart, decided to give the same blue glass - the sapphire to her too.
- Poor people over the archway: The people were shivering, didn't had bread nor fire to keep themselves warm.
- The prince decided to give all the pure gold in his body (statue) to the people so that they can get relief from the condition.
