As,the industrial revolution came in England Britain itself started to produce a lot of textile goods.Indian textiles imported to Britain were bained,Indian industries hardly got any support from the local rules as a result they started to decline ,moreover textiles made in Britain were cheap as well ,as a result Indian markets were flooded with textiles made in Britain.

The decline of indian textiles transformed India into an exporter of British manufactured goods. These goods entered the Indian market virtually free while Indian goods were kept out of Britain's market. British cotton cloth flooded the Indian markets. Many weavers and spinners became jobless after the industrial revolution.
