Every section of society takes different meaning of Independence for them. Industralists relate to the civil Disobedince movment under the following way. :-

Industrialists and merchants wanted protection against imports of foeign goods, and a rupee-sterling foreign exchange ratio that would discouraged imports, so they participate in the movement very hugely.

They reacted to the colonial policies that restricted business activities as they want to expand their business more and more.
They gave financial assistance and refused to buy or sell imported goods. 

Most buissness man came to see swaraj as a time when colonial restriction on business would no longer exist and trade and insutry would flourish without contraints

.But after the failure of Round table conference, business groups were no longer uniformly enthusiastic.'
