How did the industries that American settlers brought to the West during the mid-1800s impact the environment? Forests were cut down for timber. A number of forests were planted. Water supplies were preserved. Hydroelectric power was created.

The environment got disturbed a lot as there were many big industries which had to be set up.

As there was not enough space therefore forests had to be cut down to ensure there was enough space.

Now this really had an adverse impact as animals had no home to live and many of them even died due to the imbalance.
