Japan joined the axis power in after the first world war to fulfill it's ambitious goals. It attacked the American and British properties in China and also tried to annex Manchuria .In other words Japan started an undeclared war against China. China complained this act in League of Nations. However the Britain and France followed a policy of appeasement towards Japan, as they wanted to use Japan to hinder the progress of China. Hence it became a cause for the second world war
