The ladies reacted very excitedly. The Ouija Board’s calling the narrator intrigued the ladies. They were curious to know more about him from the Ouija Board. First of all Miss Laura Hinkle became curious; she brought the strange phenomenon to Lavinia’s attention by asking her aloud whether she knew anybody by the name of Helen. Lavinia thought John might be interacting with Helen of Troy. She became suspicious of him.
