Maratha was always a powerful ruler over the county. But finally in 18 th century after  the Aurangzeb' death it was the best time of Maratha rulers when they wanted to expand Maratha supremacy. After Aurangzeb's death when the situation was ugly Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath thought it was  the right time to expand their Maratha. So he attacked Malwa thn Gujrat and bengal to Punjab. Bt unfortunately they couldn't expand because of  Mahaji Sindia, who became ruler of Delhi after Panipat battle in 1761.
