How did the mariners escape from the south pole?

An Albatross appeared one day from somewhere and then ship was freed. All the weather conditions become calm and got freed from the ice as the breaks. Then ship started to sail towards the north . The albatroos also started following the ship.This way ship started to move and mariners escape from the escape from the south pole.

Actually in a voyage, the ship stucked in the storm which drove the ship towards the south pole ..
