The meaning of freedom for people was different as all of them had different notions for their freedom. As poor peasant asked for ease in taxes, tribes claimed to remove the forest laws, big merchant claim for ease in trade. Anything which people thought that they were restricted from they, they wished that to get that means the freedom. But in all that they claimed for independent India, which means though their ways were different but the aim was same "To get independence".

(1) The plantation workers in Assam wanted to go gheir native places, their homes. It was the real meaning of freedom for them.

(2) Some poor peasants wanted to get rid from the rent that they had to be pay. It was their freedom.

(3) Some rich peasants wanted to have good facilities and decreased revenues. It was their meaning of freedom.

(4) Some factory workers wanted to have good wages and bonus with good working conditions.

(5) Some traders wanted to have freedom of trading and rid from the taxes. They wanted the removel of guild restrictions.

(6) Muslims in the country wanted equal respect, value and their equal representation in the politics.

(7) Dalits were also seeking for respect and equality with equal opportunities of jobs and services. And were looking forward of seperate electrot and reserved seats in governmental jobs and politics.

(8) Womens were looking for equal opportunities and they wanted to get recognised by the country as they can also participate in the movements for freedom.
