How did the mensheviks resist the protest of the Bolsheviks

a. On April, 1917, Bolshevik leader Lenin returned from exile  and held demonstrations against the provisional government led by Kerenski. In response, the government arrested popular leaders.

b. With massive protest, peasants seized land from the rich landlords, followed by a call by Lenin for the Socialist seizure of power in October.
c. The Kerenski government responded by ​seizing the buildings of two Bolshevik newspapers.
d. Troopps were also sent to protect important government buildings like telegraphs, telephone, winter palace.
e. However, the seizure by Bolsheiviks was completed  within a day with  the help of military and Navy.
