The monkey played a trick. He told the crocodile that he had left his heart on the tree. So they should rush back to the tree to bring the heart back and get it for his wife to eat. Once they reached the bank of the river, he climbed on the tree and made himself safe.

the monkey asked the crocodile to take him to the bank of the river .He would bring his heart from the tree.The stupid crocodile obeyed .They reached the bank of the river and the monkey jumped into the tree and bade him good by for ever. This is how the monkey saved himself.
