Hey!!!!!!

Some of the main causes for the decline of the Mughal Empire were:

1. Aurangzeb was an ineffective ruler and his policies were largely against the goodwill of the people, who eventually began to dislike him.

2. Aurangzeb's already weak rule was further weakened by his successors who were incapable of  and incompetent to rule the vast empire.

3. Foreign invasions by other monarchs especially by the British, played an important role in putting an end to the Mughal empire.

4. Organisation of the Sikhs by Guru Gobind Singh into a military force to fight the Mughals.

The Mughal empire lasted for almost three centuries... The death of Aurangzeb is believed to have marked the beginning of the modern period.

The main reasons for the decline of the Mughal empire are as follows-

In the 18th century many political reasons led to the decline of the Mughal empire.

1. Aurangzeb’s campaigns held in the Deccan region decreased his military and financial power.

2. His administrative system started collapsing, as the governors started consolidating power in their own provinces.

3. He was unable to keep a check on the subhedars and the mansabdars.

4.To recover the revenues, the governors increased the taxes and kept these with themselves and this led to uncontrollable revolts by the peasants and zamindars.

Due to his incorrect rules and policies-

1. He supported caste distinctions thus he took more taxes from Hindus, so some Hindus also had  to change their religion. This led to religious conflicts.

2. He increased the taxes.

3. He also made many rules and policies which was opposed by the people.

Fights-

1. After Father's death Aurangzeb's sons fought among themselves and even killed each other.

2. He
also faced an attack from Nadir Shah of Iran, in 1739, and Ahmad Shah Abdali of Afghanistan five times - between 1748 and 1761 weakening the empire further.

3. He had angered all the people of his empire and all the other empires.

Empty treasury

1. The treasure was deminished because of  Shah Jahan's zeal to construct many buildings.

2.
Aurangzeb’s long wars in the south had further drained the treasure.

English east India company-

1. The East India company first took a permission to build its factory, but slowly it influenced its rule and power on  whole India.
