The narrator was
spooked considerably at the first materialization of the ghost of Helen. Her
materialization was exactly like watching one of these moving picture cartoons
being put together. Though he felt disgusted and scared to bones, he tried to be
quite pleasant, polite and courteous to her lest he should offend her. He felt
horrified and shocked at her revelations concerning her role and assistance in
helping him write his ghost stories. As long as she was there, he just wished
her to disappear and never ever return to him.
