At the beginning of the story the narrator himself says that he was totally blind at the time he was travelling by train to Mussoorie the narrator also syas that the best time to visit the mussoorie was October when tourist have gone back and the hill covered with dahlias.We can infer that the narrator's eyesight was good before and he must have visited Mussoorie many times when he had a good eye sight.
