Hey.. Here's ur answer

Many people who lived in or near forest had survived by hunting deer, patridges and a variety of small animals. This customary practice was prohibited by the forest laws. Those caught hunting were now punished for poaching.

The new laws enacted by the British government in India affected the lives of the forest dwellers adversely. The new forest laws prohibited the traditional practices (hunting, gathering, and wood-cutting)  of these forest dwellers. Moreover, they were not allowed to enter the reserved forests and if found they were punished by the authority. Thus, they were forced to leave the forests and move to other areas.
