1. peasants where led by Baba Ramchandra in Awadh against the landlords and talukdar. The oudh kisan sabha was also set up.

2. They protested against higher rents, begar and oppressive landlords. In other areas it was different.

3. In June 1920, Jawaharlal Nehru began going around the villages in Awadh.

4. The peasant movement, however, developed in forms that the Congress leadership was unhappy with.

5. The peasant movement demanded the reduction of revenue/abolition of begar and social boycott of oppressive landlords.
