The other mariners were quite fickle-minded and hypocrites. They kept changing their beliefs and ideas. Their first reaction to the albatross’s killing was shock and fear. They believed it would bring them ill-luck. However, when their ship was out of the Antarctica, their spirits were up. On seeing the Sun and pleasant climate, they praised the ancient mariner for killing the albatross. Again, when the ship was stuck at the silent sea at the equator, they again changed their views. They held ancient mariner responsible for their troubles.
