it intensified the national movement and processions were launched against the government. the people of east and west bengal took bath in the holy ganges and tied threads around each others hand , celebrating it as raksha bandhan day.

THE PARTITION OF BENGAL WHICH WAS ON THE BASIS OF DIVIDE AND RULE POLICY OF THE BRITISH ON THE BASIS OF RELIGION,HAS FAILED IN DOING SO AND STRENGTHEN THE BOND BETWEEN HINDUS AND MUSLIMS AND GAVE LIFE TO A UNIFIED NATIONAL MOVEMENT IN OUR COUNTRY
