How did the people at the post office treat ali ?

The people at the post office did not treat Ali considerately and thoughtfully. They considered him a little insane. They would take delight in making fun of him. Sometimes they would call out his name as if there was a letter for him. He would go running inside; but then they laughed at him. Even the postmaster was harsh with him. Ali was hurt deeply by the callous and mocking attitude of the head postmaster and the postmen. His pain was not understood at all by any of them.
