the people of bastar rebelled in 1910 against the british colonial power because for long the villagers had been suffering due to increased land rents, demand for free labour and goods by colonial officals .this sitution was worsened by terrible. in 1905 the government proposed to reserve 2 and 3rd of the forests. it also proposed to ban shifting agriculture hunting and collection of forest produce this was the last blow to the very livelihood of the people of bastar. people were also affect by the incease land rents and demands for free labours and goods by colonial officiers. these are reason.

The people of Baster raised a revolt against the Britishers because of the following reasons :-
(a) They were angered by the British decision to reserve two-thirds of the forest in 1905
(b) The British also stopped shifting cultivation, hinting and collection of forest produce.
(c) People were also affected by increased land rents and demands for free labour and goods by colonial officers.
