The Rowlatt Act came as great shock to the Indians. For the act in the name of curbing a handful of revolutionaries enacted a law taking an Indians as offenders. ... To Gandhiji the Rowlatt Act was unacceptable. He started organising people for a greater movement until the Act wasrenounced.

1. On 6th april 1919 Gandhiji started non violence civil disobidience movement nation wide to oppose the act.
2. Rallies were conducted,shops were closed down, rail workers went on strike . There were widespread attacks on bank,post offices.
