Phoenicians were a group of people who settled on the coast of Mediterranean sea. According to ancient authors, Phoenician’s willingness to travel lead to their civilisation in many parts of the world.

They travelled across the seas for trade and later they travelled to spread their civilisation. After their colonies became big cities they started to spread their culture to the people that they traded with.

The estimated time period of Phoenicians is 1550 BCE to 300 BCE and their important contribution to the world is said to be the alphabetical system.
