plantation workers in Assam were restricted to go out of their land without permission. And they got permission very rarely. so they were not able to go their homelands or villages.And they are confined to a small land. when the gandhi idea of swaraj went to them they interpreted this idea in a different way.they started leaving their confined lands and started going their villages and homelands. but unfortunately due to streamer strike they were caught up by police in their path and beaten up brutually.
