Idea of Swaraj

Explanation:

  • In Assam, they were in and being able to connect to their villages it was the right to move freely from the enclosed spaces for the plantation workers.
  • They were rarely given permission to get out of the tea plantations, through the Inland Emigration Act.
  • They left these plantations and thought that Gandhi would give them land when they heard of non-cooperation.
  • Imagining it to be the time of all their sufferings they interpreted Swaraj.
