During treatment the author underwent the pain of injections and drilling which made her shiver in pain. While lying on the dentist's chair the author feels very helpless and miserable. She is full of regret and blames herself for her misery and carelessness .

While sitting at the dentist chair, the poet continuously glares the dentist nose. He went out after many pains and drills. He regrets and blame herself for not taking caring and being aware of such things before. The poet then regrets for eating lots of candies, lollies, sherbet dams, etc. He thought that he could spent all those shillings in a useful things. At that time she was feeling very helpless and alone.
