Our constitution has several provisions to safeguard the interest and rights of the scheduled caste and scheduled tribes of India and to prevent unlawful acts against them, the prevention of atrocities act, was introduced in 1989 according to which the scheduled castes and the scheduled tribes have been given reservation in educational and governmental institution, Lok Sabha and vidhan Sabhas. And the ministry of tribal affairs was also set up in 1999 to look after their socio-economic interest and promote education among them.
