Hi vaibhav,
The Professor's greatest ambition was to manage a stripe. He worked really hard in pursuit of his ambition. He borrowed training manuals and insisted on reading it, though it meant staying up and awake all night; he peppered the instructors with doubts and questions. He drilled enthusiastically; irritating his colleagues with his horrible heartiness when they trained in route marches with a "What about a song, chaps?", which was not at all greeted politely at the end of thirty miles of marching.
He saluted perfectly at the pay table; and when officers were in sight, he would march off to the canteen like a Guardsman, in order to impress the seniors.
He also lectured to his colleagues; leading to replacement of the respect he had recieved from his mates by terror and fear of his approach.
Thumbs up if that helped,
Gaurav
