1.the Rajputs played an important role in medieval India. they were famous for their bravery.there is no clarity about the origin of the Rajputs.
2.the word 'Rajput 'means 'son of a RAJA '.but all the Rajputs do not belong to royal families.
3.many Rajput families trace their origin to the sun or the moon and thus are known as Surya van shi or Chandra van shi.
