People fought in the French revolution to achieve the social justice, where no classification tends to be based on done on color, cast or creed. They also demanded the class difference to be abolished, and every citizen should have the equal rights and opportunities in the country. Earlier the society had segregated itself on the basis of class difference, which ultimately proved, the catalyst to bring change. Ever since the king Louie XVI took charge the economic conditions worsened, which brought the people on the roads of the Paris. Before the advent of the French revolution, France was under the system of monarchy, which, however, due to inept management has ruined the lifestyle of the people.
The disconnect between the people and the state saw new heights. They failed to identify themselves as the citizens of the state, prosperity left for the royal family, and the people felt as if they had n representation in any manner. Therefore, the French revolution also brought democracy with itself as the people chose their representatives so that their rights can be served and someone is there to raise voice for the issues which impacted them. Monarchy did not allow accountability but the people went against it and held their representative's accountable if went as per the wishes of their people (Whaley, p.111).French Revolution also raised the position of women in the society as they now had the equal rights than those of their male counterparts. Women in the French revolution, fought very bravely it would not be wrong to say that the revolution, would have died if the women have not become the art of it. Prior to the French Revolution women did not even enjoy the right to hold any political position. Women came out of their kitchens when the bread went beyond their reach. It was the women who fought shoulder to shoulder with the men to achieve the equal status.
