When the servants came to know that Hana and Dr. Sadao has planned to heal the wounded man, they gave their disapproval to it. They were both frightened and puzzled with such a decision. They do not want their master to serve any white man. Yumi refused to clean and wash the wounded man. The old gardener gave his opinion that the white man has been destined to die and so his masters should not attempt in healing him.
