The speaker agrees to give his service to the child for nothing because by accepting this offer, he was the free man. Also, he was attracted to the flawless nature of the child.

EXPLANATION:

    Poem narrates about the speaker who is searching job but he wants to work as a free man.

    Firstly, in the morning, he got offer from a king who offered his power for his labour but the speaker didn’t find the offer worth full so, he rejected it.

    Then in the noon, he got offer from a wealthy person who offered gold coins for his labour but this also didn’t attract speaker so, he refused it.

    Then, in the evening, he got offer from a beautiful woman who offered her smiles for his labours but he realised that her happiness was a mask for her sorrows so, he rejected her offer too.  

     In the last, he went to seashore where he met a child who offered nothing for his service, he accepted his offer as it helped author to remain a free man.
