The thief thought that Anil will be very sad when he will get to know about the theft. Anil had trusted the thief and he would not be sad because his money has been stolen rather he would broke out in sad when he will realise that the person whom he trusted has broken his trust.

The thief by the name of Hari had originally planned to rob Anil of all his money. But when he saw the amount of trust Anil had on him, for the first time in his life, he thought twice about his decision and this time his heart  felt heavy. Hari knew of the various signs people showed when they were robbed but he knew Anil would show only sadness and grief and this made it impossible for Hari to break his trust and run away with his money.
